Latest NewsFive top the ton as Mr. Hood smash's the Lake John record with 172lb of silver fish ( July 01, 2009)
Micky Hood, Bowlers, peg 38,
172-4-0
This was truly a landmark day in
the history of Lake John and the match scene as the top five all topped 100lb,
Micky who is not one to moan at all about any thing started his match on the
meat at 7m and hard on the bottom, it only took 15 minutes before he realized
that the fish were high in the water and continued the rest of the match at
depths of 12" to 18" loose feeding meat by hand, this formula was the winning
method last week by his mate Alec Roberts, skimmers to start and bream started
to come thick and fast with the odd tench and crusian, after the match Micky
told me that he put at least 50lb on the scales in the last hour, wot a days
fishing I think its home for a lye down....

Rob done a reckie last Friday and
this was the first time he had seen the lake, so to place second on his first
visit is a massive achievement, Rob and Micky did have a team talk before the
match and Rob who knows his way around the match scene soon picked it up and was
ahead of the winner up until the last hour of the match, this Puddle Dock star
will probably be booking in again is my guess, skimmers and bream short on the
6m line and yes it was the meat again.
Graham Dack, Middy, peg 7,
134-12-0
Only a third place this week
for Dacky, its about time he let someone else have a chance, maggot margins
early, skimmers and bream 6m
Alec Roberts, Middy, peg 32,
130-8-0
Kenny Farrell,
Browning-Lake John, peg 14, 118-8-0
Mark Parris, Lake John, peg 28,
89-8-0
