Fish to Win 2009
finally got under way on Saturday 29th August 2009 at Marsh Farm
Fishery at Milford in Surrey the home of the Specimen Crucian
Carp.
56 Anglers Anglers
commenced battle for the 2 qualifying spots but with the heavy down
pour the night before and the slight drop in temperature made things very
difficult with very few Tench & Crucian’s showing.
This however didn’t
deter 43 year old Brighton based angler Anthony Parnell (Passies-Sonubaits) who
became the first qualifier with 27lb 10oz who caught 3 Common Carp and skimmers
fishing the method with micro pellet and corn from peg 17 on Richardson
Lake.
Second place went to
Kev Parker (Apollo II - Pulborough AS) who weighed in with 19lb 1oz which
contained 6 Crucian's biggest of about 3lb and 1 Tench plus skimmers using
Chopped Worm and Caster from peg 7 on Harris Lake. On reaching the final
Kevin’s response was priceless commenting “I’ve now got to buy a Sat Nav for the
car so that I can find Lake John for the Final"

Innovations) with 17lb 1oz, 4th was Russ Berryman (Surrey Starlets) with 15lb
