Roberts Shows his Class in Fish to Win Qualifier 4 at Newland Hall in
Essex
Alec Roberts (Middy) drew the unfavoured
peg 4 at the wrong end of Brook Lake at Newlands Hall in Chelmsford Essex, but
within 20 minutes of the start Alec already had 50lb of carp in the net fishing
paste short and down the edge and at close of play weighed in with 90lb 2oz for
just 15 fish with the biggest being 8lb. In 2nd place came Dagenham Angler John
Coster (Bowlers) from peg 32 again on Brook Lake fishing on 8mm Pellet on the
waggler.
With Alec Roberts having already qualified
for the Final at Monks two weeks earlier Mike Evans (Lords Leisure) from
Rayleigh in Essex was surprised to find out at the presentation that he had also
qualified for the final at Lake John in Waltham Abbey on 25th October. Mike was
also on Brook Lake Peg 35 and weighed in with 62lb on Paste short and Pellet at
14 metres.
Just missing out on the final in forth
place came John Southgate (Oakwood Angling) with 59lb 2oz on peg 5 on Moat Lake,
In fifth place came Jason Collins (Browning - Wickford) with 58lb 6oz, followed
by Barry Oliver on Peg 3 on Brook Lake.
Round 5 of the competition moves back to
Surrey on Saturday 19th September where Plantation Lake at Stub Pond will
produce the next two qualifying for the final.
