Latest NewsTylers Common Qualifier 9 Match Report and Result (October 07, 2009)As in the previous qualifier at the
Essex Tylers Common venue it was maggot that ruled the day on Horseshoe Lake as
56 anglers battled it out for the next two spots in the Fish to Win 2009 Final
in wet and windy conditions.
Again peg 26 was in the frame but
this week it picked up top spot as Browning Wickford Ace Peter Steward fishing
maggot at 14m weighed in with 71lb 1oz and booked his place in the final, but it
was a close run match as in 2nd place and just 5oz behind on peg 18 was
Enfield's Maver Image angler Barry Oliver who weighed in with 70lb 12oz again on
maggot at 16m. Just missing out in 3rd place was Chelmsford Optician Pat Cooper
on peg 20 who also fished maggot at 16m.
Before the match 67 year old Jonnie Cozens
also from Chelmsford mentioned that his 4th place at the previous Tylers Common
qualifier was his best ever finish in such a tough field so again put out his
stool and fished the maggot feeder to and between the islands on peg 43 and
finished 4th again but this time Jonnie who fish's under the Wickford Angling
Banner weighed in with 42lb 12oz.
In 5th place came Steve Barnett with 41lb
3oz, 6th was Adrian Marshall (Trabuco South East) who picked up his 3rd top 10
finish with 40lb 4oz, 7th came Naj Kayim who had 19 carp for 36lb 7oz on peg 31.
Tipping the scales in 8th place was Darren Jonson (Wickford Angling) with 33lb
coming 9th with 30lb 10oz was Lords Leisure Angler Mark Bransgrove and in 10th
place came Andy Banham (Big Fish Tackle Store) with 29lb 8oz.
The 10th and final qualifier is this
Saturday 10th October at Framfield Fishery in East Sussex, followed by the
Section Winners Match at Monks on the 17th October then it's off to the Final at
Lake John in Waltham Abbey on Sunday 25th October 2009.
